Winter and Summer tours
This site showcases the work of award winning english
wildlife photographer Simon Littlejohn. Although a relatively new
face to the world of wildlife / nature photography, Simon has wasted no time in pursuing his ambition of photographing some of the not so easy to locate members of the animal kingdom that are generally overlooked. A first class example of his work to date is the extremely rare if not unique image at right, of a totally wild Patagonian Puma / Mountain Lion
captured at night feeding on a carcass. This image was taken from a distance of only 18ft (6 mtrs) away, and only a stones throw from his base camp in Chiles awe inspiring Torres Del Paine National Park. You can
read a full account of how Simon came to capture the image by clicking
on the "Midnight Feast" article in the menu. This article with several rare images of totaly wild moountain lions is available for sale along with several other picture stories that will be online soon.. Simons first trip to the park was in 1998, since then he has made 6 trips, and spent two and a half years camping in the wilderness, with the aim of publishing a book about this wilderness, which he describes as a Patagonian Garden of Eden. Many more trips are
planned through all of the seasons in 2006/7. Some
of these will mean working solo for weeks on end to capture more images
for photographic libraries as awell as the book. Others however will see
him leading like minded enthusiastic photographers of all levels on
photo tours to this magical Patagonian destination.
.This vast wilderness covering over 500,000
acres located in southern Chile is considered by many to be the jewel
in the crown of the national parks in South America, a multi faceted
landscape that never fails to impress the visitor. From the monalithic
towers that attract hardcore rock climbers from all over the world,
to the huge glaciers that spur off the southern Patagonian icefield
and the numerous species of fauna and flora, this park is a visual
feast. It seemed a perfect place for a relative newcomer to the field
of wildlife photography to sharpen his claws and hone his skills.
Immersing himself in this vast wilderness through all the seasons.

Dear Viewer
Thanks for visiting the pages of my website, it has
been a sharp learning curve taking a few of the Puma images. The extremely
rare image of a female Puma feeding at night, was taken a stones throw
from my base camp used during my year round trekking / 4x4 photo safaris.
I hope the results of my endeavours are pleasing to the eye as well
as encourage efforts to protect such a stunning wilderness for future
generations. As the months pass and my new site begins to take shape
many more images will be added, not just of Chile but Spain where
I live when not in the park.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you
wish to discuss anything related to the images, or wish to discuss
the possibility of commissioning me to to shoot for your publication.
